The Governor of the Central Bank of Kenya to be keynote speaker in Washington D.C.

How can economies be transformed to higher levels of development by finance, and avoid the pitfalls of excessive financialisation?  As part of the World Bank/IMF Spring meetings in April, DEGRP will be hosting a special side event on this topic on Saturday 12th April  at 11.30 am - 12.30pm EDT, in Washington D.C. The meeting will be opened with a key note speech by the Governor of the Central Bank of Kenya - Prof. Njuguna Ndung'u. Other panellists include Prof. Stephany Griffith-Jones (ODI and Columbia University), Professor Avinash Persuad (Intelligence Capital) and Prof. Thorsten Beck (CASS Business School, CEPR and Tilburg University). Dr Dirk Willem Te Velde (ODI and DEGRP) will chair.
