Event summary

Innovation is essential for economic growth and development in low-income countries around the globe, whether it take the form of new technologies, processes, or practices, or the adoption or transfer of existing innovations.

This one-day workshop brought together researchers from four DFID-funded programmes - the DFID-ESRC Growth Research Programme (DEGRP), Private Enterprise Development in Low-Income Countries (PEDL), Growth and Labour Markets in Low Income Countries (GLM), and Enabling Innovation and Productivity Growth in Low Income Countries (EIP-LIC) - to share findings on and discuss the policy implications of two particular issues: innovation and management practices at the firm level, and skills training and innovation at the firm level.
